Alessandro Bigardi-Dep is a Temporary Professor at the University of Verona since 2007, specializing in publishing studies. He leads the Master of Publishing Program and teaches courses such as Applied Publishing and Contemporary Publishing. Before his academic role, he held professional experience in publishing and communications.
He holds degrees in Media Studies, Packaging Science, and Art History, and is currently pursuing a PhD at Sapienza University of Rome.
His research focuses on the international publishing industry, book cover design, and the history of books and publishing. He heads the Research Group in History of Books and Publishing, exploring publishing products and their cultural impact. A key project, Storia del paperback (History of the Paperback), was initiated in 2017, examining mass-market publishing models.
He advises on editorial processes and contributes to interdisciplinary research through the Centro di ricerca SKENÈ and DAIH - Digital Arena for Inclusive Humanities. His work bridges academia and professional practice, emphasizing contemporary graphic design and digital publishing trends.
