Alessandra Eramo

Alessandra Eramo serves as a Lecturer at the Central Institute for Continuing Education and Transfer, Universität der Künste Berlin. A Berlin-based artist, vocalist, and composer, she explores latent acoustic territories of the human voice and noise as socio-political matter through performance, installation, video, drawing, and text.

Her research interests center on Sound Art and Performance Art, particularly examining the body, memory, and identity through participatory actions, field recording, and site-specific modes. She employs experimental composition techniques to investigate voice as socio-political material, connecting acoustic phenomena with cultural memory and identity politics. Her work bridges artistic practice with critical theory, focusing on how sound functions within power structures.

Eramo's publications reveal consistent engagement with feminist perspectives in electronic music, geopolitical sound mapping, and vocal experimentation. Her artistic output spans vinyl production, cassette releases, and catalog publications, demonstrating interdisciplinary approaches that merge sound studies with visual art and social critique. Key themes include gender in electronic music, southern cultural identity, and urban sonic resistance.

As co-founder of Corvo Records since 2015 and a member of Errant Sound project space, she actively contributes to Berlin's experimental sound scene. Since 2021, she performs with Böseblick Electronic Music Ensemble alongside Korhan Erel, Kirsten Reese, and Ariel W. Orah. Her international exhibitions include Klub Katarakt Hamburg (2023), Heroines of Sound Festival Berlin (2022), and Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art (2017).
