Alessandra Casarico

Dr. Alessandra Casarico is an Associate Professor of Public Economics at Bocconi University and a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE) Department of Social Policy (2024–2027). She coordinates the Social Inclusion Lab (SILab) at Bocconi’s Dondena Research Center. Since 2022, she has served as Academic Director of the World Bachelor in Business, a triple-degree program with USC Marshall School of Business and HKUST. Her expertise spans gender economics, public policy, and inequality analysis. She holds a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and a Laurea (MSc) from Bocconi University.

Her research focuses on gender inequality drivers, labor market dynamics, and policy interventions. Using administrative and textual data, she examines representation gaps in elite fields (e.g., academia, politics) and firm behaviors. Notable roles include Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Inequality and Research Fellow at CESifo Munich. She contributed to the EU-funded MUSA project (2022–2025) addressing urban social inclusion.
