Alenka Hlousek-Radojcic is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. Her research focuses on plant lipid metabolism and ultrastructural analysis of plastid development, combining molecular biology and biochemical techniques. She teaches introductory biology courses (BISC207 and BISC208) and has secured grants for educational initiatives and research infrastructure.
Notable grants include the NSF-DUE-CCLI grant (2006-2008) for integrating biology learning and a Cameron Foundation grant (2004) for health sciences equipment. She has also received travel grants and professional development support, including from the Dwight D. Eisenhower Program (2001).
Her work bridges fundamental plant biology with applied lipid research, contributing to understanding metabolic pathways and cellular structures. She is actively involved in curriculum development and undergraduate research mentorship.
