Alena M. Grabowski

Alena M. Grabowski is Associate Professor of Integrative Physiology at University of Colorado Boulder and Research Healthcare Scientist at the VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System. She directs the Applied Biomechanics Laboratory.

Research Focus: Examines biomechanical interactions of assistive devices during human movement. Current projects analyze how prosthetic limb characteristics and exoskeleton designs affect walking, running, and sports performance in amputees and able-bodied individuals.

Applications: Design optimization of powered prostheses, biomechanical analysis of sprinting mechanics, and development of performance assessment protocols for adaptive athletes.
