Aleksandra Samuļenkova is a Latvian-born type designer and lecturer affiliated with the Master Type and Media Programme at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She specializes in designing typefaces for Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek scripts, with notable works including the metal-cast typeface Pilot and award-winning Cyrillic/Greek extensions for IBM Plex.
Her expertise focuses on diacritics and special characters in Latin typography, and she lectures extensively at institutions such as her alma mater’s TypeMedia programme and Type@Cooper in NYC. She consults on script design and cultural adaptation in type systems.
