Aleksander Błoński is a Professor of Film Art at The Leon Schiller National Film School in Łódź, where he serves as both a researcher and head of the Photography Workshop within the Cinematography Department.
Born on May 12, 1949 in Rzeszów, Poland, Professor Błoński graduated from the Cinematography Department of the National Film School in 1971 and received his formal diploma in 1973. He was awarded the academic title of professor of film art in 1999.
His professional expertise centers on cinematographic techniques, film photography, and visual narrative construction. As head of the Photography Workshop, he plays a pivotal role in training Poland's next generation of cinematographers and visual storytellers, emphasizing both technical mastery and artistic expression in motion picture photography.
In 2024, Professor Błoński received the prestigious Gold Medal for Long Service, recognizing his decades-long dedication to film education in Poland.
