Alejandro Portes

Alejandro Portes is a Research Professor in the Department of Sociology & Criminology at the University of Miami's College of Arts and Sciences. He holds an Emeritus title at Princeton University. His work focuses on migration, urbanization, and social integration. Portes earned degrees from the University of Havana, Catholic University of Argentina, and Creighton University, with a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
