Alejandro García de Leániz Peña

Alejandro García de Leániz Peña is a predoctoral researcher in urban planning at the University of Valladolid, affiliated with the Department of Architectural Theory and Architectural Projects. His current role includes a FPU (University Teacher Training) contract with Spain's Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities. He is pursuing a doctoral thesis on development planning in medium-sized Spanish cities (1979–2008) under the Investigo program of Castilla y León's Regional Government.

Research interests focus on urban and regional planning, sustainable design, landscape integration, and territorial development. He has conducted projects in Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Georgia through the Metrópoli Foundation internship (2022–2023). Active in academic networks, he contributes to the GIR Territorial and Urban Planning group and the University Institute of Urban Planning (IUU).
