Alejandra Recio-Blanco is a Researcher at the Côte d'Azur Observatory (Lagrange Laboratory). She plays a pivotal role in the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC), managing the Generalized Stellar Parameteriser - Spectroscopy (GSPspec) working group responsible for deriving stellar parameters, chemical abundances, and DIB parameters from Gaia/RVS spectra. Her work bridges observational astronomy with advanced data analysis techniques.
- Galactic Archaeology
- Automated Stellar Parameterization
- Chemical Abundance Analysis
- Space Mission Data Exploitation
- Machine Learning in Astronomy
- Galactic Evolution Modeling
Her research focuses on reconstructing the Milky Way's formation history through chemo-dynamical analysis of stellar populations. She pioneered automated spectral analysis tools now used in international projects like Gaia, Gaia-ESO Survey, and ESO-OCA AMBRE project. Her studies revealed chemical bimodalities in discs and bulge, and the role of ex-situ components in halo populations.
Recent publications highlight her leadership in Gaia Data Release 3 (2022), including the chemical cartography paper and GSPspec module analysis. Earlier works (2021, 2018, 2017, 2014, 2006) showcase her expertise in chemical evolution, parameterization algorithms, and satellite accretion studies.
