Aleixo Muise

Dr. Aleixo Muise is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Toronto and a Principal Investigator for the Canadian National Early Onset Pediatric IBD Cohort Study (NEOPICS). He holds dual training in Biochemistry (PhD, Dalhousie University) and Medicine (MD, University of Toronto), with clinical expertise in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His research focuses on genetic susceptibility and functional studies in Very Early Onset Inflammatory Bowel Disease (VEOIBD), including discoveries related to genes like TTC7A, IL10R, and NADPH oxidase.
