Aled Roberts

Dr. Aled Roberts is a Lecturer in Applied Medical Sciences, Biochemistry, and Genetics at Swansea University, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science and the Biomedical Sciences department. His research focuses on microbiology, biofilms, and antimicrobial resistance, particularly exploring manuka honey’s therapeutic potential against pathogens like Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Education: BSc (Hons) Microbiology from Cardiff University, PhD in medical/molecular microbiology from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. Postdoctoral research included studies on biofilms and cystic fibrosis-related infections funded by the Hodge Foundation.

Research interests include ex vivo modeling, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and natural product therapies. He teaches modules like Microbiology, Molecular Metabolism, and Immunotherapeutic Innovations.

Publications: Two recent studies (2020, 2022) investigate antimicrobial agents’ clinical applications and biofilm-related therapies. No scientific awards listed.
