Alec M. Wodtke

Alec M. Wodtke serves as Director at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and holds a Professorship at the University of Göttingen. He leads the Dynamics at Surfaces research group, which employs cutting-edge laser, molecular beam, and ultrahigh vacuum technologies to study molecular interactions at interfaces.

His research focuses on understanding the fundamental rules governing energy conversion at molecular interfaces. Wodtke's work bridges macroscopic energy conversion phenomena with molecular-scale processes, investigating how energy transfers occur one molecule and one collision at a time.
