Alcides A. Monteiro

Alcides A. Monteiro is an Associate Professor with Tenure at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Department of Sociology, and an Integrated Researcher at CIES-Iscte - Center for Research and Studies in Sociology. He holds a PhD in Sociology (2002) and Aggregation in Sociology (2017) from UBI, with a Degree in Sociology from ISCTE (1988).

His research focuses on Local and Regional Development, Social Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, Adult Education and Lifelong Learning, and Gender Studies. His work emphasizes participatory methodologies and social intervention projects, particularly in rural contexts and social economy organizations.
