Alberto Saija is a Research Fellow at the Department of Energy (DENERG) of the Polytechnic University of Turin, concurrently pursuing a PhD in Energetics (40th cycle, 2024-2027). He serves as an External teacher and teaching assistant for the Master's Degree Course in Aerosol Technology and Air Quality within the Energy and Nuclear Engineering program for the 2025/26 academic year.
His doctoral research is supervised by Professors Laura Savoldi, Vincenzo Maria Gentile, and Marco Perino. As an active member of the MAHTEP Research Group, his work integrates theoretical and applied energy engineering principles to address sustainability challenges.
Dr. Saija's research spans critical domains including Solar Energy systems, Desalination technologies, Cooling Systems, and Aerosol Technology. His recent publication on solar-assisted desalination demonstrates a focus on scalable renewable energy integration for water scarcity solutions, emphasizing practical pilot-scale implementations and thermal storage innovations.
His academic contributions extend to teaching, where he supports graduate education in air quality engineering while advancing research in sustainable energy-water nexus applications through departmental collaborations.
