Alberto Proença

Alberto Proença is a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering of the University of Minho (DI-EEUM). A pioneer in computational science, he founded Portugal's first national parallel computing service in 1994 and led the SeARCH heterogeneous computing cluster since 2005. His research spans digital electronics, high-performance computing architectures, and applications in cultural heritage, computer vision, physics, and chemistry.
