Dr. Alberto Nicotina is a postdoctoral researcher in European Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Amsterdam. His expertise includes EU Law, climate litigation, multi-level governance, and democratic representation within the European Union.
His research focuses on procedural environmental democracy, particularly analyzing the French débat public mechanism as a model for EU democratic processes. He has conducted comparative studies between France, Italy, and Belgium, with fieldwork on participatory governance frameworks.
