Alberto F. Cavallo

Alberto F. Cavallo is the Thomas S. Murphy Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, where he teaches in the Business, Government, and the International Economy (BGIE) unit. He is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and co-director of the Pricing Lab at the D3 Institute at Harvard. His pioneering work has transformed how inflation is measured globally.

Dr. Cavallo earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics with summa cum laude from the Universidad of San Andres in Buenos Aires in 2000. He then earned a Masters in Business Administration from MIT in 2005, followed by a PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 2010.

Dr. Cavallo's research focuses on inflation measurement and price dynamics, pioneering the use of big data approaches to understand macroeconomic phenomena. His work spans several key areas:
