Associate Professor Alberto Bellocchi holds an academic position in the School of Education at Queensland University of Technology. His research focuses on science education, particularly the interplay between social bonds, emotions, and knowledge construction in secondary classrooms. He leads the STEM Education Research Group and serves as Lead Editor for the Cultural Studies of Science Education journal. His work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing classroom interactions and teacher development.
Bellocchi earned a PhD from QUT and previously taught chemistry in Queensland schools. His research has been supported by grants including the Australian Research Council’s Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2016-2018). He has authored/co-edited books like Exploring Emotions, Aesthetics and Wellbeing in Science Education Research and published widely in top journals such as Journal of Research in Science Teaching.
His research interests include:
