Albert Pope is the Gus Sessions Wortham Professor, focusing on urban development's implications and climate change adaptation. He holds a M.Arch from Princeton University and a B.Arch from the Southern California Institute of Architecture.
His research examines climate emergency responses through urbanism, including new density models. Current projects include the book Inverse Utopia (Birkhäuser Press), addressing urban climate resilience. He teaches courses like ARCH 602: Research Platforms - Advanced Option Studio II.
His design work has earned awards from the American Institute of Architects and Progressive Architecture. He has secured grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, National Science Foundation, and Shell Center for Sustainability.
Pope advocates for a contemporary urban project, bridging theory and practice through teaching, writing, and lecturing.
