Dr. Albert Chen is a Professor of Physics at Oklahoma Baptist University's School of Science and Mathematics. He has served as a NASA Summer Research Fellow at multiple centers including Stennis Space Center, Johnson Space Center, and Dryden Flight Research Center, where he conducted research on Martian dust simulation and high altitude diffusers for space shuttle main engines. At OBU, Dr. Chen teaches a comprehensive range of physics courses from introductory College Physics to advanced Electricity and Magnetism, along with select mathematics courses.
- Special interest in Space Physics and Aerospace Engineering
- Extensive NASA collaboration experience
- Recipient of Mortar Board Teacher of the Year award
- Teaches both classical and modern physics disciplines
Dr. Chen's research trajectory demonstrates a consistent focus on applied physics problems related to space exploration. His work with NASA involved both hardware prototyping and simulation software development for the CODEM project, indicating technical expertise in experimental physics and computational modeling. The absence of recent publications suggests a current focus on teaching and academic service rather than active publication.
Dr. Chen has received recognition for his teaching excellence, including being honored as Teacher of the Year by OBU’s Mortar Board chapter in 1989. His academic credentials include a B.S. from Chung-Wang Christian College of Science and Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Baylor University.
He maintains active academic engagement through teaching roles in courses such as Quantum Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Computer Modeling, while continuing to apply his NASA research experience to classroom instruction. His contact information is available through his official OBU email address.
