Alba Alonso Alvarez

Dr. Alba Alonso Alvarez is Full Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela's Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Department of Political Science and Sociology. She coordinates research within the ARMELA Network focused on equality policies and rights frameworks.

Her award-winning doctoral thesis analyzed gender mainstreaming in Spain. Research examines:

• Implementation of gender equality policies
• Territorial politics through gender perspectives
• Radical right movements and anti-feminism
• Gender equality in scientific fields

Publications analyze policy implementation during crises, comparative gender regimes in Southern Europe, and threats to gender equality from populist movements. She has consulted for the European Institute for Gender Equality and Spain's Gender and Universities Bureau.
