Alana Baird

Alana Baird is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Appalachian State University. She holds an Associate's degree from Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute, and a B.S. and M.A. from Appalachian State University. Her work focuses on enhancing quantitative literacy through liberal-arts mathematics, mathematical modeling for sustainability, and innovative classroom technologies.

Key interests include improving transfer student integration and supporting first-year students' academic transitions. She actively promotes collaborative and interactive learning environments. Office located at 236 Walker Hall.
