Alan Wahlert is a Lecturer in the Education Department at Lake Forest College. He holds an Ed.D. from Loyola University Chicago, an M.Ed. from DePaul University, and a BA from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. His academic focus includes Secondary Social Studies and History Education, with specialization in Educational Leadership.
Wahlert's professional experience includes roles as Division Head for Social Science, World Language, and ESL at Wheeling High School; Division Head for Social Science at Dundee Crown High School; and Social Science Teacher at Rolling Meadows High School. He has presented at the NCSSSMST Conference in Denver, CO (2012).
He leads courses on Education Studies, Fieldwork, and Social Justice pedagogy, and contributes to the Paedagogia Academic Journal. Awards include the District 214 Excellence in Education Award and Golden Apple teaching nominations.
