Alan Little

Alan Little is a Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology and Geography at Coastal Carolina University, where he has been a faculty member since 1990. A native of Horry County, his academic background includes graduate specialization in Geomorphology, Climatology, and Meteorology. He teaches courses in World Regional Geography, Physical Geography, and Latin American Geography.

• Education: M.S. in Geography from Western Kentucky University (1980), B.A. from Coastal Carolina University (1977).
• Research Interests: Surface water drainage systems of the Waccamaw River, atmospheric variables affecting high-frequency communication systems (HAM Radio).

Little is actively involved in community initiatives, serving as Chairman of the Buck Creek Watershed Committee. His work bridges environmental science and cultural geography, particularly through field studies in Mexico focused on climate and cultural dynamics.
