Alan J. Lesse, MD serves as Associate Dean for Medical Curriculum and Associate Professor across Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Microbiology and Immunology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo. He concurrently holds the position of Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Lesse earned his bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Virginia, completed internal medicine residency at Temple University, and undertook clinical/research fellowships in infectious diseases at UVA.
His professional focus bridges Infectious Diseases research with innovative Medical Education methodologies. Recognized by the Siegel Committee for Teaching and Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology for pedagogical excellence, he implements evidence-based curriculum development across all medical education levels.
