Alan Gallay is the Lyndon B. Johnson Chair in American History and Professor at Texas Christian University, where he also serves as Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of History within the AddRan College of Liberal Arts. His expertise focuses on colonial America, Atlantic World studies, Native American history, and the U.S. South. Gallay holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from Georgetown University and a B.A. from the University of Florida.
His research examines patterns of enslavement, colonial power structures, and cultural encounters in early America. Gallay's publications consistently explore themes of indigenous-European relations, colonial labor systems, and imperial expansion across the Atlantic World.
