Alan R. Denton is Professor of Physics at North Dakota State University, specializing in theoretical and computational soft matter physics. His group develops statistical mechanical models for complex materials including colloidal suspensions, polymers, and biomaterials.

Research integrates computational methods and theory to predict structure and phase behavior in macromolecular systems, with applications in nanotechnology, drug delivery, and biomaterials.
