معرفی
Alan R. Denton is Professor of Physics at North Dakota State University, specializing in theoretical and computational soft matter physics. His group develops statistical mechanical models for complex materials including colloidal suspensions, polymers, and biomaterials.
Education includes:
- PhD in Physics from Cornell University
- MSc in Physics from University of Toronto
- BAsc in Engineering Science from University of Toronto
Research integrates computational methods and theory to predict structure and phase behavior in macromolecular systems, with applications in nanotechnology, drug delivery, and biomaterials. Current projects investigate macromolecular crowding effects, microgel-nanoparticle mixtures, and ionic microgel swelling.
Funding from NSF supports investigations into digital culture listening and material design. Actively mentors graduate and undergraduate researchers in computational physics projects. Outreach includes Science Fun Night demonstrations for elementary schools.
