Dr. Alan Cameron is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer and Clinical Senior Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health. He specializes in stroke medicine, with a focus on preventing atrial fibrillation (AF)-related strokes through improved detection and management. He earned his PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 2019, supported by the British Heart Foundation.
His research integrates clinical, genetic, and biomarker approaches, including natriuretic peptides and AI-driven ECG analysis. Cameron has contributed to international stroke guidelines and is a Fellow of the European Stroke Organisation. He has received grants from the Stroke Association, Heart Research UK, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
