Alain Devos

Alain Devos is a Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne since September 2014, following 16 years as an Associate Professor (1998-2014). He is affiliated with the Department of Geography under the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. His research focuses on hydrology, geomorphology, and karstology, particularly in the context of limestone plateau dynamics and wine-growing environments in the Paris Basin.

His work examines groundwater-surface water interactions, mechanical stress in underground quarries, and lateral geological facies impacts on water resources. Publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches combining geological, hydrological, and archaeological perspectives, with applications to viticultural regions and historical stone quarry studies.
