معرفی
Alaettin Serhan Mete is a Computational Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory and a key member of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. He leads the Core Software group for ATLAS, focusing on high-throughput, high-performance, and exascale computing applications in High Energy Physics. His expertise spans I/O optimization, data management, and software performance tuning for large-scale particle physics simulations.
- Education: PhD in High Energy Physics (2012) from Iowa State University, BSc in Physics (2006) from Middle East Technical University.
Research interests center on computational methods for particle physics, including algorithm development for ATLAS’s Athena software stack, optimization of data storage in high-energy experiments, and machine learning applications for jet flavor tagging. He contributes to sustainability in computing and anomaly detection for beyond-Standard Model phenomena.
Article trends reveal his work’s focus on Higgs boson properties, top quark dynamics, and novel data analysis techniques. The publications span LHC Run 2 and 3 datasets, with emphasis on signal extraction, dark sector searches, and detector calibration.
Labs/teams: Collaborates with Argonne’s High Energy Physics group, CERN’s ATLAS team, and UC Irvine’s Physics department.
