معرفی
Akshat Mudgal is a Warwick Zeeman Lecturer and Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Warwick's Mathematics Institute. He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol and Purdue University, supervised by Trevor Wooley, and previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford under Ben Green. His research focuses on additive combinatorics, analytic number theory, combinatorial geometry, and discrete harmonic analysis.
Education:
- PhD in Mathematics, University of Bristol and Purdue University (2018)
- MSc in Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
His work explores foundational problems in additive combinatorics and number theory, including the sum-product conjecture and Vinogradov systems. Recent research emphasizes geometric and algebraic aspects of matrix commuting pairs, energy estimates in additive structures, and decoupling techniques in analytic number theory.
Key Contributions:
Mudgal has advanced the understanding of additive energies on spheres and difference sets in higher dimensions. His work on quadratic Vinogradov systems in finite fields bridges harmonic analysis and number theory. He also organizes DECANTER, a workshop supporting early-career researchers in analytic number theory and additive combinatorics.
Awards:
- Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship (202X–202X)
Teaching & Supervision:
He teaches MA140 (Mathematical Analysis 1) at Warwick and has supervised multiple undergraduate research projects. His mentorship includes students Albert Lopez Bruch, Ahmed Ittihad Hasib, and Salomon Yeung, focusing on topics like Sidon sets and polynomial expansions.
Upcoming Events:
In 2025, he co-organizes DECANTER (June 19–20) and participates in DECANT (June 23–27), celebrating Trevor Wooley's 60th birthday.
