Akram Zamani is a faculty member at the University of Borås within the Academy of Textiles, Technology and Economics (including the Swedish School of Textiles), specifically the Department of Resource Recycling and Community Development. He serves as Program Manager for three Master's programs focused on Resource Recycling in biotechnology, energy technology, and polymeric materials. His research centers on converting food waste into renewable materials via fungal biotechnology.

Projects like "Sustainable Fungal Textiles" (funded by Vinnova) demonstrate his commitment to reducing fashion industry pollution through bio-based materials.
