Akinlolu Akande

Akinlolu Akande is Lecturer at Atlantic Technological University and Principal Investigator in the Mathematical Modelling and Intelligent Systems for Health and Environment (MISHE) research group. His computational materials research focuses on sustainable energy materials and biomaterials.

His work employs density functional theory to investigate thermoelectric and photovoltaic properties of novel materials including alkali-metal bismuth selenides, lead-free perovskites, and polymer systems for additive manufacturing. Recent studies examine sintering effects on hydroxyapatite biomaterials and spin-orbit coupling impacts on perovskite optoelectronic behavior.

Dr. Akande collaborates with Trinity College Dublin and Qatar Environment & Energy Research Institute on materials discovery projects. He serves as External Examiner at Technological University of the Shannon.
