Akiko Mizoguchi is an Associate Professor at Waseda University’s Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences, School of Culture, Media and Society. She specializes in gender and queer studies, with a focus on visual culture, manga, and BL (Boys’ Love) media. She earned her PhD from the University of Rochester and has published extensively on Japanese gendered subcultures.
