Ajmal Saeed Mian is a Professor of Computer Science at The University of Western Australia, where he leads the Machine Intelligence Group. This group is renowned for its work in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision. His research spans adversarial attacks and defenses on deep learning models, 3D shape analysis, point cloud analysis, facial recognition, human action recognition, and video understanding.

He has held leadership roles in conferences such as DICTA 2019, ACCV 2018, CVPR 2022, and others. He has supervised 18 PhD students and 7 postdoctoral fellows and is Vice-President of the Australian Pattern Recognition Society.
