Ainārs Rudzītis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Diseases at Riga Stradins University. His research focuses on pulmonary hypertension, thrombosis, and clinical cardiology. He has led multiple projects including studies on balloon pulmonary angioplasty for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension and the Latvian National Amyloidosis Registry.
Education/Qualifications: Expert in Clinical Medicine from the Latvian Council of Science (2019–2026). His roles include project leadership in fundamental and applied research programs.
Research Interests: Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, angioplasty techniques, transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis, and myocardial function in arrhythmia patients. His work addresses UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
Recent Projects: Includes implementation of balloon pulmonary angioplasty at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital and genotype-biomarker studies in cardiac amyloidosis.
Advising/Grants: Supervised PhD projects on pulmonary hypertension treatment outcomes and antiarrhythmic drug effects. Collaborates on RSU grants and Latvian Council of Science-funded initiatives.
