معرفی
Aimin Peng, PhD, serves as a Professor at the Adams School of Dentistry, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, leading research in oral cancer biology and DNA repair mechanisms with direct clinical translation goals.
Education:
- Postdoc in Pharmacology, University of Colorado School of Medicine
- PhD in Molecular Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio
- BS in Biology, University of Science and Technology of China
Professor Peng's research centers on the DNA damage response (DDR) and cell cycle dysregulation in oral cavity cancers. He investigates how these pathways drive tumor progression and confer resistance to radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. His work prioritizes mechanistic dissection of DDR components to develop novel therapeutic strategies that improve treatment efficacy for oral cancer patients, bridging fundamental molecular insights with clinical applications.
Actively engaged in academic mentoring, Professor Peng welcomes student researchers into his work. His projects leverage institutional team science frameworks highlighted in university news, particularly studies targeting DNA replication vulnerabilities in oral cancer through collaborative lab environments at UNC.
