Aileen Pugliese Castro

Aileen Pugliese Castro is a Senior Lecturer and BFA Specialization Program Coordinator in Art Education at Concordia University. With over 28 years of teaching experience across North America, she has taught at institutions including McGill University, University of Illinois, University of British Columbia, and Maryland Institute College of Art.

Her research focuses on children's learning processes, particularly exploring material exploration and young children's imagination. She investigates how teachers use picture books to inspire children and how illustrators sustain their creative imagination.

She is also an exhibiting watercolour painter, blending artistic practice with academic expertise in art education.
