معرفی
Ahmet Mandev is a Research Fellow at the Department of Physical Resource Theory within the School of Space, Earth and Environment at Chalmers University of Technology. His research focuses on sustainable transportation systems, particularly the role of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in decarbonizing personal transport. He investigates charging behaviors, real-world fuel efficiency, and cross-country electrification patterns of PHEVs. Mandev has contributed to projects analyzing PHEV performance in Europe and North America, emphasizing empirical data and policy implications.
Key research interests include:
- Electrification of vehicle miles traveled (eVMT)
- Environmental impact of PHEVs
- Household-level adoption patterns
- Cross-country comparisons of charging infrastructure
His recent work highlights significant regional differences in PHEV electrified kilometers across Europe and identifies factors like workplace charging and electricity prices influencing usage patterns. Mandev's studies also emphasize the importance of real-world data over manufacturer specifications in assessing environmental benefits.
He co-leads the Wind power conflict of interest: residential housing and socioeconomy project (2025–2027) and contributed to the Charging behaviour and infrastructure need for plug-in electric vehicles initiative (2017–2021), supported by the Swedish Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Centre.
