Dr. Ahmed Qureshi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University, leading the CoRAL Lab. He focuses on robotics and AI, particularly in robot planning, control, and human-robot collaboration. His research integrates motion planning, active perception, and machine learning to enable robots to operate safely in dynamic environments. He joined Purdue in Fall 2021.
Education:
- Ph.D., University of California San Diego (2021), Robotics and Control
- M.S., Osaka University (2017), Robotics
- B.S., National University of Science and Technology (2014), Electrical Engineering
Research Interests: His work spans robot motion planning, neural networks for physics-informed control, and multi-agent systems. Key areas include scalable motion planning algorithms, human-in-the-loop manipulation, and applications in healthcare and workforce optimization. Recent projects involve neural time fields (NTFields) and physics-informed learning.
Teaching: Courses include Introduction to Robotics (CS45800), Robot Learning (CS55800), and advanced robotics topics. He emphasizes hands-on programming and theoretical foundations in perception, planning, and control.
Labs/Teams: Directs the CoRAL Lab, which collaborates on industrial robotics challenges and autonomous systems. Current projects address multi-agent path planning, deformable object manipulation, and safe human-robot interaction.
