Ahmed Ahmed is a Lecturer of Arabic at Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Modern Languages. He holds a Master’s in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University (GSU) and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Language and Literacy at GSU. His research focuses on intercultural communication, bilingualism, transnationalism, and teaching Arabic as a foreign/heritage language. He emphasizes integrating cultural understanding into language education, advocating for authentic exposure to Arabic culture.
Education: M.A. in Applied Linguistics (GSU), Ph.D. Candidate in Language and Literacy (GSU).
Teaching Interests: Elementary and advanced Arabic courses, Arabic culture, and cross-cultural studies. Courses include ARBC-1001, ARBC-1501 (Arab Culture), and ARBC-3501 (Men-Women in Islam).
Research Interests: Cross-cultural pedagogy, heritage language learning, and Middle Eastern studies. His work explores post-colonial frameworks and the role of Arabic in transnational contexts.
Professional Engagement: Office hours are Tues/Thurs 11 AM–12 PM. He actively practices Arabic calligraphy as a cultural engagement.
