Dr. Ahmed Abdelfattah is a Research Professor and group leader at the Microbiome Biotechnology department of the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB). He holds a PhD in Ecological and Phytosanitary Management from the University of Palermo, Italy, and has held postdoctoral fellowships at Stockholm University and the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria.

- CropBiomes - Synthetic communities for crop fitness
Recent publications analyze microbial dynamics in Cannabis seeds, apple carposphere microbiomes, and antimicrobial resistomes in plant microbiomes. His work with the Microbiome & Health MOOC demonstrates commitment to public education.
