Ahmad Ayub

Ahmad Ayub is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Previously, he served as Course Leader for Graduate Apprenticeship BEng Engineering at Robert Gordon University and as a lecturer at Perth College, University of the Highlands and Islands, with earlier research experience in Strathclyde's High Voltage Technologies Group.

His academic credentials include a PhD in Lightning Protection System of Wind Turbine Blades from the University of Strathclyde (awarded 2025), an ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management (2022), and a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Cardiff University (2007).

Research spans lightning protection for wind infrastructure, renewable energy integration (solar/wind), cable insulation diagnostics, and engineering pedagogy. His UN SDG-aligned work addresses sustainable energy challenges through high-voltage system reliability and educational innovation.

Recent 2024 publications demonstrate expertise in acoustic emission analysis for cable fault diagnosis and wavelet-based denoising of partial discharge signals, reflecting strong trends in power system monitoring and signal processing for renewable energy infrastructure.
