Agustín León-Moreta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from Florida State University, preceded by a Master’s and B.S. in Economics from the Catholic University of Ecuador.
His research spans urban affairs, local public finance, and state and local governance, with a focus on municipal infrastructure, open space conservation, and intergovernmental dynamics. His work has been published in journals such as Urban Studies, Cities, and Public Administration Review, often analyzing datasets related to municipal governance and policy outcomes.
Scientific awards include the Fulbright Fellowship, Volcker Junior Scholar Award (APSA), and the Brownlow Award (PAR). He has also received UNM Teaching Fellowships and research grants from his institution. His datasets are publicly accessible via the University of Michigan's ICPSR repository, accompanied by STATA and R scripts for replication.
