Agnès Delahaye

Agnès Delahaye is a Professor of American Civilization at Lumière Lyon 2 University, serving as Director of the Department of English-Speaking World Studies (DEMA) since 2023. She holds an HDR (2019) and a PhD (2003) in Anglophone Studies, with a focus on colonial governance and New England history. Her research explores American colonial history, settler colonialism, and historiography, emphasizing themes like governance, propaganda, and historical memory.

Key roles include: Director of the Lyon node for the ANR AMERICA2026 project (2023-2027), member of the RéDEHJA network and SEAA1718 bureau, and former Maître de conférences (2009-2022). She has led over 50 academic communications globally and supervised the doctoral thesis of Marie Rabecq.

Her notable works include Settling the Good Land (2020), Agents of European Overseas Empires (2024), and Adventurers, Pilgrims, Puritans (2024).
