Her research focuses on public economics, social insurance, old age pensions, and work disability, with a particular emphasis on industrialized countries like Sweden. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to social equity and aging populations.
Her work explores topics such as disability insurance reforms, pension system sustainability under aging populations, and gender dimensions in social security policies. She has published extensively on Sweden’s pension systems and their implications for social welfare. Notable contributions include analyses of Nordic pension reforms, gender equity in retirement systems, and the intersection of public policy with demographic trends.
Dr. Kruse has served on advisory panels, including a five-year term (2013–2018) on the Norwegian Research Council’s evaluation group. Her research often bridges theoretical economic analysis with practical policy recommendations, particularly in aging societies and social insurance frameworks.
