Agnes Wigestrand Hoftun is a Research Fellow in Nordic Linguistics at the University of Stavanger, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Education, Department of Cultural Studies and Languages. She is currently completing her doctoral studies, focusing on Nynorsk language competence and digital dictionary use among Nordic studies students.
Research Interests: Her work centers on Nynorsk, orthography, grammar, norming, dictionary consultation behavior, language awareness, and second language acquisition. She explores how learners and pre-service teachers interact with linguistic norms and digital tools during writing and assessment tasks.
Publication Trends: Her recent publications (2017–2024) reflect a strong focus on empirical studies combining qualitative and quantitative methods. Key themes include metalinguistic awareness in teacher education, digital resource use in error correction, and corpus-based analysis of learner language in relation to CEFR frameworks.
