Agnès Devictor is a Lecturer at the Faculty of History of Art and Archaeology, University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where she teaches Iranian cinema. She previously served as a Visiting Professor at OMAM (2019-2020) and held a lecturer position at the University of Avignon and Pays de Vaucluse in the Department of Information and Communication. Her academic journey includes a doctorate in political science focused on Iranian cultural policy.
Her research intersects political science and historical methodologies to analyze:
- Production of filmed images in the Islamic Republic of Iran
- Visual documentation of Middle Eastern conflicts since the 1980s
- War cinema during the Iran-Iraq conflict (1980-1988)
- Cinematic representations of wars in Afghanistan
- Cultural policy mechanisms in authoritarian states
