Agatino Rizzo

Agatino Rizzo is a Professor and Head of the Architecture Research Subject at Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden. He leads a research group of 30 researchers with an annual turnover of approximately €3 million. His work focuses on the nexus between cities and resources, urban experiments, and climate-sensitive design, aiming to advance inclusive and sustainable climate transitions in urban environments. Rizzo has secured over €6 million as Principal Investigator (PI) for projects funded by entities like the Qatar National Research Fund, EU Horizon, Swedish Energy Agency, Formas, and Vinnova.

His academic profile includes a doctoral degree in urban planning and extensive experience across Asia and Europe.
